Hi, I’m Alfred Wu.

Hello,

I’m Alfred Wu, a data analyst based in Guangzhou.

I previously worked on ML algorithms, built web crawlers, started a business, worked in the data center of a company in Guangzhou. Currently working on quality data analytics at a US company.

I enjoy hiking. I haven’t visited many famous mountains, but during the pandemic, when work restrictions kept me from leaving the city, I explored nearly every hill around Guangzhou.

I enjoy running, though slowly—usually close to a seven-minute kilometre, or just under six and a half when the weather is cool.

I enjoy swimming, although I only know a leisurely breaststroke.

I enjoy diving, but haven’t yet found the time to earn my Open Water certification.

I enjoy road trips and have driven around both islands of New Zealand twice.

I love tinkering, exploring new things, and discovering parts of the world I haven’t set foot in before.

I’m always happy to make a new friend.

The original idea was to create a corner of my own amid the noise of the internet, where I could share notes on life, travel, books, and everyday experiments.

From time to time, I also return to my professional roots and write about data analysis or explore technical topics.

I also hope this site helps me meet more people and make more interesting friends.
